Emelia Hewitt
Perception
‘Perception’ is a project that looks to question the phrase ‘the camera never lies.’ It poses the question of whether photographs do depict a true reality?
In this project Emelia Hewitt focuses on light and its ability to change how an image is read and perceived. In photography we manipulate light to change how an image is viewed; this can be in portraiture to make a person look younger or in interior to make a room look larger and brighter. However, in this series Emelia explores how light can be manipulated to create a series of surreal images that cannot be viewed by the naked eye.
